Vinayaka Chavithi
About Services
Vinayaka Chavithi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrated across India, to honor the birth of Lord Ganesha. As the beloved elephant-headed deity, Ganesha is revered as the remover of obstacles and the patron of wisdom and intellect. The festival typically falls on the fourth day of the bright fortnight in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, usually in August or September, spanning ten days of festivities with the most elaborate celebrations on the first day. Homes and public spaces are adorned with Ganesha idols, and devotees perform prayers, chant mantras, and offer modak, a sweet dumpling, as a favorite delicacy of Lord Ganesha. Processions featuring large idols through the streets accompanied by music and dance are also a highlight of the celebrations, uniting communities in joyous reverence for Lord Ganesha.
